3–16GG
Computerized knitting gauges supported by hand-knitting and specialist techniques.
From fibre selection to final finishing, every capability exists to serve exceptional cashmere knitwear — developed and manufactured in Kathmandu, Nepal for discerning global brands.
Behind refined cashmere knitwear is a precise chain of material and technical decisions.
At Kanchan Cashmere, we connect yarn, gauge, proportion, stitch, construction, finishing, measurement and approvals through one disciplined development and production process. We support boutique brands, independent designers and established houses that require technical interpretation and continuity alongside manufacturing capacity.
From Kathmandu, we develop and manufacture cashmere sweaters, cardigans, scarves, shawls, dresses, outerwear and accessories from 3GG to 16GG. Each program is aligned around design language, yarn route, target quantity, quality requirements and delivery window.
Core parameters are confirmed per program so development, approvals and production planning operate from the same basis.
Computerized knitting gauges supported by hand-knitting and specialist techniques.
Standard MOQ with a minimum of 10 pieces per colour.
Typical window for 1–3 samples per style with a confirmed brief and available yarn basis.
Typical production window after approvals and yarn readiness.
Final shipment-release benchmark unless otherwise agreed.
Yarn availability and supporting documentation are confirmed per program.

Design interpretation, swatch development, yarn planning, sampling, knitting, linking, washing, finishing, quality control, packing and export coordination are organized as one connected flow.
This allows a knit idea to move in a controlled sequence from swatch to prototype, approved sample and ultimately repeatable bulk production.
Fine jerseys, ribs, lightweight layers, pointelle and cashmere-silk with controlled weight and drape.
Sweaters, cardigans, links-links, ribs, cables and textured structures balancing form and warmth.
Voluminous cables, fisherman structures, statement ribs and heavier winter pieces with pronounced surface character.

Gauge selection affects weight, drape, recovery, warmth, yarn consumption, cost and how a garment behaves in wear. We therefore evaluate machine gauge together with yarn count, stitch structure and intended silhouette.
We work across jersey, rib, cardigan stitch, Milano, links-links, cable, pointelle, jacquard, intarsia, tuck, fisherman, honeycomb and custom stitch development. Our Swatch Library supports the development of brand-specific knit signatures.
Fine-gauge knitwear with controlled measurements, clean finishing and defined drape.
Mid-gauge structures with visible stitch identity and balanced weight.
Heavy-gauge knitwear with sculptural surface and controlled volume.

We develop programs in 100% cashmere and selected luxury blends including cashmere-silk, baby cashmere and recycled cashmere. Yarn route and composition are selected according to the product objective and buyer requirement.
Our primary yarn partners are CARIAGGI, CONSINEE and TOP LINE. Yarn count, composition, handfeel, colour, availability and relevant documentation are reviewed before production planning.
For certified yarn programs, available supporting documentation is aligned on a project-specific basis and claims are limited to what can be substantiated.

Sampling is used to define yarn, weight, handfeel, proportion, stitch balance, construction and finishing before a buyer releases bulk production.
The development flow can include swatches, prototypes, fit samples, salesman samples, pre-production samples, bulk production and shipment samples. Each approval creates a stronger reference for the next stage.

Cashmere quality is visible in clean linking, balanced seams, stable measurements, controlled washing, careful pressing, correct labels and accurate packing.
Internal checks accompany knitting, linking, washing, finishing, measurement and packing. Final shipment release follows AQL 2.5 unless otherwise agreed.
Design, yarn, gauge, target quantity, target price and delivery window are reviewed before development begins.
Measurements, construction, handfeel, finishing, trims and comments are converted into a clear bulk standard.
Production is controlled against the approved reference.
Final inspection, packing and documentation are completed before shipment.
Approved references and technical history support more consistent repeat orders and future seasons.
Technical, yarn-related or timing deviations are addressed as early as possible.

We work with realistic timelines, clear commercial terms, disciplined sampling and transparent communication when technical or yarn-related questions need resolution.
Our objective is a long-term production relationship in which approved standards, technical history and shared product understanding become stronger from season to season.
From the first swatch to the final carton, we connect material understanding, knit engineering, development and quality control within one clear production framework.
