Buyer Partnerships

Calm, Accountable Cashmere Partnerships

How we work with boutiques, lifestyle labels and conscious luxury brands to plan, develop and deliver cashmere knitwear programs with clear timelines, MOQs and communication.

Who We Partner With

Built for Boutique, Lifestyle and Conscious Luxury Brands

Kanchan Cashmere works with independent boutiques, lifestyle labels and established luxury brands that treat cashmere as a serious, long-term category. Most partners use us to anchor their core knitwear offer — sweaters, cardigans, outerwear and accessories that need to deliver quietly every season.

We support first-season capsules in measured volumes, then grow into larger programs as fit, sell-through and working rhythm are proven. This avoids over-commitment in year one and builds confidence on both sides.

Our best relationships are with teams that value clarity on yarns, gauges, costing and timelines. When expectations are transparent upfront, cashmere becomes one of the most stable categories in the assortment — not the most stressful.

Beginning a Partnership

Starting with a Focused First Capsule

Every partnership begins with a clear brief: market, launch windows, target price points, preferred yarn stories and existing knitwear experience inside your team.

From there, we usually propose a compact first capsule — often 5 to 15 styles — built from a mix of proven structures and considered new developments. Together we decide where to use our existing swatch library, where to create custom stitches, and how to balance storytelling pieces with core commercial styles.

Sampling calendars are agreed before work starts. Once yarn is ready, protos and SMS follow a disciplined timeline so your internal fittings, line reviews and market appointments stay protected.

Collaboration Framework

A Structured Way of Working Together

Our role is to be the production backbone behind your knitwear, not just a supplier. That means we organise development, approvals and production around a consistent framework that can be repeated every season.

Typical steps in a season:

  • Initial conversation on positioning, volumes and launch timing.
  • Selection of yarns and gauges from a focused, certified roster of spinners.
  • Swatch and proto round to lock fabric behaviour, fit blocks and finishing direction.
  • SMS and size sets aligned to your selling calendar and internal milestones.
  • Order confirmation only once yarn readiness and capacity are clearly planned.

This structure keeps both creativity and discipline in view, and makes it easier to grow the program year after year.

Calendars & Approvals

Agreeing Timelines We Can Both Keep

We work backwards from your target in-store or online launch dates. Only when yarn booking, lab dips, machine loading and shipping windows line up do we lock the calendar.

Approvals are staged and documented — from fabric sign-off and fit confirmation to PP and TOP. At each step we are clear on what needs to be approved, by whom, and by which date, so that the season flows as calmly as possible.

This approach reduces last-minute compression, protects quality and allows your merchandising, marketing and operations teams to plan with confidence.

MOQs & Terms

Balancing Boutique-Friendly Quantities with Factory Discipline

Our MOQs are designed to support curated buy plans while keeping the factory efficient. In most cases, programs are built around structured small and mid-size runs that can be extended as demand proves itself.

Costing is transparent and grounded in yarn, gauge, make, finishing and packaging decisions. We avoid sudden price changes mid-season and keep all terms — including payment structure and surcharge logic if needed — documented in advance.

The objective is simple: quantities that feel realistic for your channels, and terms that protect cash flow and delivery on both sides.

Communication & Visibility

Direct Access to the Factory, Not Layers of Intermediaries

You communicate directly with Kanchan Cashmere in Kathmandu. Feedback and decisions move straight to the people responsible for knitting, linking, washing and packing.

We provide clear updates at key moments — not constant noise. When something needs your decision, such as a yarn substitution, gauge adjustment or calendar impact, we explain the options and implications clearly so you can choose with full visibility.

Over time, this direct, honest communication becomes one of the main reasons partners choose to keep their knitwear with us.

“The best cashmere partnerships feel calm: clear calendars, disciplined production and a steady rhythm of seasons that build on each other.”
