At Kanchan Cashmere, restraint is a working discipline. We begin with fibre, yarn suitability, proportion, gauge, construction, handfeel and intended use before adding detail.
Every cashmere garment is shaped by a series of quiet decisions: the right yarn, the right gauge, the right structure, the right wash, and the right finish. When those decisions are made carefully, the result does not need to shout.
This is our approach to luxury cashmere knitwear made in Nepal: calm, considered, and built to endure.
Four Principles
We begin with fibre and yarn suitability before design is resolved. Yarn count, composition, softness, loft, colour availability, continuity and finishing behaviour must support the intended garment and production programme.
A garment should feel exceptional before it is seen. True luxury is experienced through wear — through softness on the skin, balanced weight, natural drape, and ease that lasts beyond the first impression.
We believe premium knitwear should remain useful beyond a single season. Longevity is supported through proportion, construction, appropriate finishing, care, repairability where practical and a design language that does not depend on short-lived novelty.
Volume is valuable only when standards remain controllable. We prioritise clear specifications, realistic development, disciplined approvals, quality control and achievable delivery commitments over volume that weakens execution.

Making
Yarn selection is not only sourcing. It is the first quality decision.
Gauge selection is both technical and aesthetic. Across 3GG–16GG development, it influences weight, density, drape, stitch definition, handfeel and the way a garment sits on the body.
Knitting, linking, washing, finishing, and inspection are not separate stages. They are connected acts of care, each one protecting the integrity of the previous one.
This is how Nepalese craft knowledge is translated into a controlled B2B route: swatch, prototype, fit and construction review, approval, bulk production, finishing and final inspection.
Discipline
Luxury quality depends on boundaries. We protect the product by refusing decisions that weaken material integrity, production discipline, or long-term trust.
Cashmere requires time for sampling, yarn readiness, knitting, washing, finishing, and final quality control.
Every program begins with yarn suitability, supplier confidence, certification scope where applicable, and long-term continuity.
Details must serve the garment. When design becomes excessive, quality and wearability are often weakened.
A garment that does not meet our workmanship, measurement, finishing, or AQL expectations is not ready for shipment.

Human Craftsmanship
Luxury quality is often decided by quiet hands: a knitter adjusting tension, a linker balancing a neckline, a finisher restoring shape after wash, a quality inspector noticing what others might miss.
Inside our factory, skill develops through training, repetition, correction and experience — and becomes commercially useful when it is supported by approved references, measurements and quality standards.

Development before commitment: material, construction, gauge, measurements and finishing are resolved through sampling before a bulk reference is established.
Approval before scale: bulk follows an approved reference. Changes are evaluated deliberately rather than absorbed silently into production.
Continuity before short-term convenience: yarn availability, technical history and documented decisions support reorders and future seasons.
